Movies I Saw at Hot Docs 2024

A little over a month ago, I attended the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival for the first time. There was a wide variety of subject matter, and I appreciated that most (every?) showing included filmmaker Q&As after the credits. From the River to the Dean’s Office

Last Thursday, I stopped by the newly established encampment at my former school, the University of Toronto. These encampments, which have popped up at what feels like nearly every North American university at this point, have been variously described as “pro-Palestine” or “anti-Israel.” Continue reading
